A grant from Unitarian Kalaká and First Universalist Church of Yarmouth helped restore the Hall of Brotherhood.

“Because of this renovation project, we now have a brand new 80 square meter community center. We mortared the old cracks on the walls and painted them with water resistant paint. The old and moldy laminated floor has been replaced with a brand new wood floor. This has been treated with good quality varnish for intensive usage. Also, due to another project, we managed to acquire brand new furniture for the center. We can now continue with our programs and this way almost 150 people can enjoy each other’s company in this renewed clean place!”

A Community Renovation

This winter, volunteers from Brassó and surrounding Unitarian villages marked the completion of the renovated Hall of Brotherhood with a ribbon cutting ceremony and community gathering. The space is “clean, easy to maintain, bright, safe, cozy and attractive.” It serves 14 different family programs, with about 150 participants on a weekly basis, aged between 4 and 90 years old.

Many people were involved as volunteers in this renovation, restoring the floor and walls, creating and painting the notice boards, and much more. They feel ownership of this community space and are grateful for the grant from Unitarian Kaláka and First Universalist Church of Yarmouth, which made this successful project possible.
